Landscapes of Nabaenohana and Takashima Island

The Kii Mountain Range approaches the sea and draws a complex coastline, which is the scenery of the seaside facing Hirogawa Town. Reefs and sandy beaches are dotted and small islands are stretched out. Those form a varied scenic spot. Nabaenohana is the area centered on the cape. Takashima Island is an area about 18ha and located in the west which makes a particularly excellent scenery. The whole area of ria coast is designated as the Nishi Arida prefectural natural park. Regional people have worried about the tsunami attack from ancient times but they love beautiful and abundant nature there so they prepare for the disaster to coexist with nature.
