Anraku-ji Temple

Hamaguchi Saemontaro Yasutada who was a samurai of Owari Province entered into the priesthood in Koyasan is the origin of the Hamaguchi family leading to Hamaguchi Goryo and Hamaguchi Kichiemon built the Hiromura seawall. Saemontaro Yasutada opened a training hall of Jodo Sinshu in 1509. It was transformed into Anraku-ji Temple and became a family temple for Hamaguchi. It was damaged by the tsunami in 1854 and moved to the present place. Daiei (15th generation head monk) and Esho (17th generation head monk) also taught at Taikyu-sha, which was established in the east side of Anraku-ji Temple in 1866 by Goryo and others. And Esho continued teaching even after becoming a private Taikyu Junior High School. In 1985, “Hamaguchi Goryo 100 years memorial ceremony” was held in Anraku-ji Temple.
