Townscape of the Hiro area

It is the townscape of the Hirogawa Town Hiro area where historical buildings show excellent landscape, including Hamaguchi family residence of national important cultural property, Izumi family residence of registered tangible cultural property and former Toda family residence. Hatakeyama family that built Hiro castle in the Muromachi era reclaimed the beach to build a residence and arranged the stone wall along the coast to prevent the waves was the beginning of the formation of the townscape. After that, Yukawa family established a street in the village which was a fishing village and built the foundation of the development, and the shipping industry became flourishing. The fishermen started fishing on the coasts of the countries and expanded their business with the development of Edo. Having placed a residence in Hiro while doing business in Kanto such as soy sauce brewing in Choshi became a big element to form the traditional townscape of Hiro. The roof of heavy grand tile is lining, and the design of the plaster, the outer wall of the shipboard, and the grid design decorating the window are coloring the town.
