Ansei Monroku is a document which records the scene of the tsunami in 1854 with text and illustrations. A record of the evacuation that Hamaguchi Goryo set fire to rice sheaves to save villagers’ lives is also included. A large tsunami with a height of about 5 meters overcame the stone wall built at the beginning of the 15th century and it flowed violently along the Egami River and Hiro-gawa River that’s flowing in the north and south of the village has been drawn. The author was one of the victims, and the head of “Isekiya” who used soy sauce brewing as a family business, Furuta Shoemon. The manuscripts dedicated to Yogen-ji Temple are currently preserved.
